Power of Positive Perceptions

Get Murphy’s Law out of your expectation, “Nothing is as easy as it looks; everything takes longer than you expect; and if anything can go wrong, it will and at the worst possible time.”

Replace it with Peter’s Law – “Nothing is as hard as it looks; everything is more rewarding than you expect; and if anything can go right, it will and at the best possible time.”

This is Peter Ng. Welcome to my motivational series – Awakening the Power within You – Power of Positive Perceptions.

No wonder many people I know is always feeling disappointed or constantly having worries in their lives – as they are always expecting that things can go wrong, and at the worst possible time; that it is no use trying too hard as there will be no results; and everything is difficult.

Little wonder people give up easily if they maintain that type of perception, and what you expect you received. That is the principle of self-fulfilling prophecy. Since we can agree that what we expect we received then isn’t it better to expect positive things in your life?!

First, nothing is as hard as it looks – we are all born creative. Observe babies behaviors, they explore everything with curiosity and joy – creativity is a natural characteristic. Fortunately, your level of creativity is largely determined by your self-concept, by how you think and feel about yourself when it comes to creative activity. This means you can increase your creativity with practice until it becomes an automatic and easy response to any goal you set for yourself.

People have more to fear from their own complacency than the constant changes in the environment. Remember, if you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you are getting. If you really want to change your life or your perception, you need to be continuing feeding your head with knowledge, acquiring new skills, and seeing things from different perspectives. The illiterate of the future is not those who can’t read or write, but those who can’t unlearn, learn and relearn.

Next, everything is much more rewarding than you expect. If it is going to be, it’s up to me!

There are powers in networking, building relationships, helping others to be successful. It seems universally true that people who have direction in their lives go farther and faster and get more done in all areas of their lives. One key principle in people’s development – further your own success by furthering others – you can get everything in life, if you help enough of other people get what they want. In my personal experiences, I realize that the more I help others to be successful, the more they helped me to be a better person. If you are a manager, the more you coach, train, developed, and empowered, the more your employees felt that they are entrusted, the higher their efficiency and productivity. More than anything else, people will buy from people they like – to translate this principle – a prospect will not buy from you until he is genuinely convinced that you are acting in his best interests.

Everything you do to improve your level of self-esteem increases and enhances the quality of your relationships with other people. Self-esteem building triggers the ability to bridge relationships that could help you achieve much more in life. This explains why people who have low self-esteem find it difficult to bridge relationships and is limited in their achievements.

And finally, if anything can go right, it will and at the best possible time! When you take away the ‘everything is too hard’ mentality, knowing that everything is much more rewarding, you can be sure that miracles can happen in your life, and it will, at the best possible time.

You sow what you reap and reap what you sown. If you are always building relationship, be creative in all things you do, never reject an idea because you think it is impossible, or reject a possibility because your mind is already made up, I believe that you will see your harvest at the best possible time. You won’t win if you don’t begin – better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing flawlessly. A positive thinker does not refuse to recognize the negative; he refuses to dwell on it. Positive perception is a form of thinking pattern which habitually looks for the best results or alternatives from the worst conditions. Power of positive perceptions!
